Medical Camp
Mount Kenya University Foundation sponsored a medical camp which was held for 4 days at MKU Main campus and attracted over 6,000 members of the public who were attended by practioners including the Indian doctors, Thika Level 5 Hospital, Zambezi Hospital and Good Life Pharmacy.
Dr. Jaydeep Palep with his wife have attended MKU free lifestyle diseases awareness and cancer screening launch at MKU Main Campus. Dr. Jaydeep Palep is based out of Mumbai, India and is in practice since the last 18 years. He is renowned not only in Mumbai but also India and has the credit of being the first fellowship trained Robotic Gastro-intestinal surgeon from India way back in 2006-2007 and he also has the credit of performing the first robotic Gastro-intestinal surgery. He has to his credit more than 3000 GI surgeries majority of them being Bariatric surgeries over the last decade and half.
He has operated on patients from across the globe right from Canada/USA right up to China. and has been invited to countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique by his patients to create more awareness about obesity surgery/weight loss surgery facilities in Mumbai. He has been a teacher for post graduate teaching in general & laparoscopic surgery for the Grant medical college & Sir J. J. Group of Hospitals (one of the oldest medical colleges in India> 150 years)
He is presently the Director and Head of Bariatric and Minimal Access Surgery and developed this state-of-the-art center for bariatric surgery in Mumbai at the reputed Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai. This is a 350-bedded quaternary care hospital with all the
amenities and critical care set up required for a high end procedure like bariatric surgery apart from all other super- speciality. Dr. Palep is also the only bariatric surgeon offering robotic bariatric surgery in Mumbai since the last 5 years with excellent outcomes.
In recent times he has been felicitated and awarded the IEF (International Excellence Federation) affiliation from India as a surgeon of excellence for bariatric & metabolic surgery.
