Welcome to MKU Foundation

Mount Kenya University Foundation is the charitable arm of the University. The Foundation was established in 2017 to coordinate several activities that the University undertakes in aid of students, alumni, and for community engagement. Its programs are geared towards harnessing public and private support that benefits the educational, research, and community service mandates
of the University. The Foundation provides a structured avenue for alumni, friends, corporations, institutions, and philanthropists to give gifts and donations.
This is in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The Call for Applications

Mount Kenya University, through the MKU Foundation, is glad to call for scholarship applications from ALL eligible undergraduate students studying at Mount Kenya University across all its campuses and centres. This scholarship programme is strictly meant to cover tuition fees. Scholarships valued at Ksh. 7,000,000 in total will be on offer for all beneficiaries.
Eligibility Criteria as Per the Scholarship Policy

1. The scholarship is open to ALL Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor’s degree
   students studying at Mount Kenya University (any campus or centres),
   irrespective of their nationality or mode of study, except students on the
   DIBeL mode of study.
2. Applicants MUST have completed one academic year at MKU/Equip Africa
   Institute.
3. The student MUST be in session during the year of application and
   specifically the September-December 2026 semester/trimester.
4. The student MUST have a good academic record.
5. The student MUST demonstrate that he/she is needy.

Scholarship Description

1. Application Opening Date: 22^nd April 2026
2. Application Closing Date: 30^th June 2026
3. Intended Beneficiaries: All Undergraduate Students (Certificate, Diploma, Degree) in all modes of study at all Campuses and Centers. except for students on the DIBel mode of study.
4. Scholarship Award: Selected students will be awarded a scholarship equivalent to ONE SEMESTER/TERM TUITION FEE or less (guided by the funds availability) that will be paid directly to the University.

• Upload all mandatory supporting documents, including certified academic
  transcripts, proof of household income (where applicable), recommendation
  letters, and any other relevant documentation
• Review the application to ensure that all information provided is complete,
  accurate, and truthful
• Submit the application through the online portal within the stipulated period
• Retain a copy or confirmation of the submitted application for future
  reference
