Security
“One of the challenges that our stakeholders and the community contend with is rising insecurity,” says MKU Vice Chancellor Prof. Deogratius JAGANYI. “This was the motivation that informed MKUF to establish
a community policing facility that will bring security services closer to the people.”
The facility was commissioned in April, 2023. It was funded by MKUF and implemented in partnership
with the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, and Kiambu County Government. MKUF also
constructed a traffic office at Thika Police Station.
In 2019, MKUF sponsored the construction of a perimeter wall and a gate at Makongeni Police Station.
